About Us

Born and raised in North Beach, San Francisco Vincent Svedise has been in the wholesale fish business for over sixty years. Vincent first started his wholesale business at Fisherman’s Wharf. He then opened Vince’s Shellfish Company, Inc. in 1973 at our present location in San Bruno.

Vince’s Shellfish Company has since grown from 3,000 square feet to 25,000 square feet. Since Vincent’s retirement, his children, Christopher, Anna, Rosanna, and Jeanette have been running the company along with son-in-law Tim, and daughter-in-law Donna.

Vince’s grandchildren; George, Vince, Michael, Sal, and Tony have joined the daily operation as the company continues to expand.

Vince’s Shellfish Company operates with six large deep freezers and five refrigerated coolers. This enables Vince’s Shellfish to be fully contained, and not dependent on outside storage. We are able to keep our fresh items at a constant 36-degree temperature and have an ice machine that produces 15 tons of ice daily.

All seafood we receive in our plant is inspected for temperature, quality, and country of origin in compliance with the guidelines of HACCP. We currently employ six full-time fish filleters who cut local fish daily, as well as thirty-five employees.

Vince’s operates eighteen refrigerated trucks daily, servicing the entire bay area: San Francisco, Peninsula, San Jose, East Bay, and North Bay. This ensures our customers the earliest delivery possible.
